FAQs
Here are some of my most asked questions. If you have a question that hasn’t been answered here, please do get in touch.

I coach for change in a person’s life at work and home, and I coach organizations and teams. Clients come to me with issues related to their businesses, careers, and personal lives, which are often entwined. All conversations are confidential.
-
Approaching each coaching conversation with full attention and respect, I create a safe and supportive environment, and challenge clients to grow professionally and personally. I am focused on discovery to bring about change; accordingly, I rely on tools, techniques, and conversations that include visualization, self-evaluation, and goal setting to help clients find answers, create a plan, and act on it.

Executive and leadership coaching focuses on improving skills and performance in the workplace, while life coaching focuses on improving personal lives and relationships. Some overlap exists between leadership coaching and life coaching. For example, a leadership coach may help a client develop their communication skills, which can benefit both their professional and personal lives.
Similarly, a life coach may help a client develop their leadership skills, which can benefit them in their career. Regardless of the type of coaching you’d like, the process is the same. As a coach I remain present for the client, listen intently, ask questions that trigger powerful thoughts, and empower the client to move to a more resourceful state than before our conversation.

A coach partners with and supports clients so that they can bring about change for themselves. In a coaching relationship, responsibility for making that change ultimately lies with the client. In contrast, a consultant diagnoses a problem, advises a client on a solution and sometimes implements that change. A consultant is responsible for delivering advice, a report, or some service on behalf of his or her client.

Then you can have it! I believe in consultative coaching, which deviates from “pure” coaching in the sense that if you ask me for advice, I can offer it to you based on my experience. This type of coaching usually happens in the moment; it blends my skills as a consultant and coach, and when it happens, I am clear on which “hat” I’m wearing so we distinguish between the two.

Coaching is an unregulated profession and fairly new around the world. A credential from the International Coaching Federation adds a level of professional recognition and demonstrates my commitment to continued learning and adherence to a detailed code of ethics. It shows that I have gone through an extensive training program and took that training one step further by earning a credential from an internationally recognized body. I pursued this path because I believe in coaching and want to offer the best services to my clients.
